A couple of years after we started Tigertail Foods we began hearing about how great emu oil was. It was being touted as "nature's miracle remedy" and a "medicine cabinet in a bottle." These were some pretty amazing claims but we were willing to see for ourselves what it could do. Over the years that we've carried emu oil we've seen over and over how it has lived up to its reputation!So what is emu oil and why is it so great? It is a natural oil that is transdermal, meaning that it can actually penetrate the dermal layer, unlike so many other lotions that only sit on top of the skin where they have no long lasting effect. Texas Tech University of Medicine is conducting an emu oil study using emu oil on burn patients. The results so far are so promising that they have extended the study for another year. Studies at Boston University have shown that emu oil may actually stimulate skin cell regeneration and help to reduce wrinkles and sagging skin.
