Recommended by veterinarians for all domestic animals to promote faster healing and less scarring, we keep it in the bakery for OUR burns. It is a great topical analgesic. Because it is a natural product, we use it as often as necessary to soothe the skin and prevent blisters without having to worry about chemical side-effects or toxins. We’ve also used it very successfully on our dogs to help cure ‘hot spots” and on horses to heal wounds and sores and reduce “proud flesh.”
As a supplement, we have seen wonderful results in dogs with arthritis, hip dysplasia, and allergies (click here to see Bree's story). Emu oil contains 22 essential fatty acids including Omega 3,6,9, oleic and linoleic acids. When ingested EFA's convert to prostaglandins which act on a variety of cells and have a wide variety of actions including regulation of inflammatory response, circulatory and cardiovascular systems, immune cell function, promotion of new cell growth, aid smooth muscle activity, and it even has been known to calm inflammatory bowel disease irritation.
4 in 1 Shampoo & Conditioner Concentrate
This shampoo leaves our dogs smelling so good to us and so bad to fleas and ticks! It contains the natural flea and tick repellents: cedar, citronella, patchouli, and eucalyptus oils. Wash your dog, leave it on for about 5 minutes before rinsing, and you’ve just given your dog a week's worth of flea protection – naturally! Additionally, the emu oil conditions the skin while the shampoo cleans the hair without stripping. Your dog is left with a soft shiny “show quality” coat. We have found that the shampoo is much more concentrated than shown on the bottle. We think that about 4 parts water to 1 part shampoo is best.

3 in 1 Animal Shampoo Bar
This gentle glycerin based bar of soap with emu oil, vitamin E and the natural flea and tick repellents of 4 in 1 Shampoo make spot cleaning easy. You can clean your dog’s face, feet, britches, or tail without having to get him wet everywhere. It is particularly good for short-haired dogs like hounds and labs where you can take the bar and scrub all over for a good cleaning after a day romping at the beach or running through fields after birds. Cleaning with this bar soap is the first step in the natural healing of hot spots on dogs -- the next is an application of the Veterinary Quality Emu Oil directly on the hot spot area .
Horse and Rider Shampoo
They say it’s strong enough for your horse and gentle enough for you. We believe them, but think our horses smells better after a shampoo with Horse and Rider than we do. The shampoo contains flea and tick repellents just like 4 in 1 Shampoo. Your horse will love you even more for giving him the added relief of being insect and tick free. The emu oil in the shampoo promotes healing while cleaning the coat to a beautiful show quality. We’ve found the shampoo more concentrated than the bottle states. Unless your horse is really dirty, we suggest a dilution of about 4 parts water to 1 part shampoo. Let us know if you agree.
